Gas Safe – Nurse Training

Introduction:

The Health Technical Memorandum 00, Health and Safety legislation, COSHH and a number of specific industry standards require that anyone involved in the use, transportation or administration of medical gases, must have annual training. As the HSE establishes more demanding standards for providing a safe working environment for employees, employers find it necessary provide proof of adequate training and clear training records for individual staff.

Nurses, doctors, porters and engineers working within the healthcare industries are constantly targeted with delivering better standards of healthcare to more and more patients. Paradoxically, the revenue funding to achieve these targets is reducing annually whilst risk management pressures are increasing.

Delivering face-to-face training is expensive, as well as the cost of taking a healthcare professional away from the workplace for training, there is also the expense of providing replacement cover.
